Preparing to conduct an examination for all the recruits in UP on the lines of the NRA of the Center

The Yogi government has started work on a plan to conduct an examination for all the recruits in Uttar Pradesh on the lines of the Center. The state government believes that this will speed up recruitment and fill vacancies in government departments.

Consider two options

At present, there are separate commissions and boards for recruitment in government departments. Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission and Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Commission remain. The Subordinate Services Selection Commission has the right to recruit up to Group C. Above this, the public service comes.

The state government is considering that the preliminary or 'pre' examination for both the commissions should be conducted simultaneously and the main examinations should be conducted by all. Apart from this, this option is also being considered to allow those who pass the Central National Recruitment Agency to appear in the main examination. This will make the commissions of UP easily eligible.

Preparation to form a committee soon

Apart from this, the state government can also consider the officers of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission and Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission afresh. The main reason is being told that the Subordinate Services Selection Commission had presented the policy of conducting the preliminary and main examinations of the Chief Minister.

There is also a plan to conduct a preliminary examination for the recruits on the lines of the Center. Therefore, a committee of high officials is ready to be formed soon to take a decision on this. This decision will be decided further on the basis of its report. The personnel department will amend the recruitment rules based on the committee's suggestion.

Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission Chairman Praveer Kumar said the recruitment process will be expedited with the decision of the Central Government. This decision is welcome. Due to this, different preparations will not have to be done for the pre-exam.

The Central Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, made several important decisions on Wednesday. Now there will be a single exam for government jobs of the central government. The Union Cabinet has approved the formation of the National Recruitment Agency (NRA) for recruitment. The NRA will conduct a Common Eligibility Test (CET) for central government jobs. 

This will relieve around 25 million candidates from appearing in more than one exam. It will begin by merging the preliminary examinations of Railways, Banking, and SSC. Later other examinations will also be included in this. This year, the announcement of the formation of this agency was made in the budget itself.

Examination twice a year:

Giving information about the decisions of the cabinet, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said that the NRA will organize the Common CET twice a year. Currently, the preliminary examinations conducted by Railway Recruitment Board (RBS) Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) and Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will be merged. Around 2.5 million candidates sit for 1.25 lakh Group B and C posts in these examinations. But right now they have to give a preliminary exam for each exam separately.

Merit list will be valid for three years

Minister of State for Personnel Dr. Jitendra Singh said that according to the new decision, a merit list of successful candidates in CET will be prepared, which will be valid for three years. However, the candidates who want to improve their score will be able to sit in the re-examination.

The candidates who qualify in the preliminary examination will get opportunities to appear in the second stage examination of Bank, Railway, or SSC. He made it clear that only the preliminary examination will be one, the other formalities and rules will remain the same as before.

Many agencies currently conduct exams:

Javadekar said that now three examinations are being merged, later other examinations will also be included in it. Around 20 agencies of the center conduct recruitment exams which will be merged in a phased manner. Jitendra Singh said that the states and the private sector should also take similar steps. The private sector can also select candidates from the score of this examination.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said, there are more than 20 recruitment agencies for government jobs in the country. Youths had to take a lot of exams for government jobs. The Union Cabinet has taken a historic decision to end this.

Headquarters in Delhi:

The NRA will be an autonomous institution, headquartered in Delhi. Its president will be a secretary-level officer. The NRA will establish one thousand examination centers across the country. At least one examination center will be ensured in a district. The preliminary examination will be conducted in 12 regional languages. The formation of the NRA will cost about Rs 1517 crore in three years. The objective is that the candidate will not have to go beyond the district headquarters for the examination.

What will be the benefit?

• Candidates will get freedom from different preliminary examinations
• Due to exam dates coming together, one had to leave the exam, which will not happen now.
• Examination centers used to fall in different cities. Now this problem is over
• There will now be a center at every district headquarters for examinations. Won't go away
• Fees have to be paid for the same examination. Travel expenses will also decrease
• Railway Recruitment Board, Staff Selection Commission, and IBPS representatives will join the governing board

Big relief to Group B and C people

The qualifications for the preliminary examination of Group B and C are the same, but due to the different patterns of each board, candidates have to prepare for the exam differently. Having a test will require one type of preparation.

A test plan was successful

The central government has also done a test for admission to MBBS in the past. Which has been successful? Whereas before every state used to conduct its examination. Similarly, NTA has formed an agency for conducting competitive examinations. Earlier this work had to be done by CBSE or other agencies.
